“And I go crazy cause here isn’t where I wanna be
And satisfaction feels like a distant memory
And I can’t help myself,
All I wanna hear her say is “Are you mine?”
Well are you mine?
Are you mine?
Are you mine?”—
From time to time I join my friend @RockerRoller in his DJ booth when he’s doing his thing on a Tuesday night. We have a few drinks, share some jokes and I write down a few song requests for people who want tunes to be played. Tuesday night is a Pop and Indie but nearly every time I go back there I have conversation like this;
Them: Do you have any *insert wrong genre artist here*?
Me: No sorry, it’s Indie and Pop tonight. Good choice on picking *insert artist* by the way.
Them: Oh… do you have any *another artist* then?
Me: Sorry, wrong genre. I mean, I can check but the DJ probably won’t have it. It’s Indie night.
Them: So what do you have?
Me: Loads of Indie and Pop!
Them: Oh cool, you must have * another wrong genre artist* then?
And then I pull a face like this;
You’re clearly not getting the whole picking artist by genre thing.
And that’s the closest I’ll get to being a frustrated DJ!
